With the election one week from today, our campaign is in full gear spreading our message of stopping President Obama’s agenda of massive spending and crippling debt.   The ad highlights my record of standing up to both parties to cut spending, balance the budget and protect our freedoms.

Foreign aid for Israel is a cost effective tool for promoting American interest and a way that America can support its critical ally in the Middle East.  U.S. security assistance to Israel is the most tangible way that the United States can help Israel maintain its military superiority and counter the great disparity in defense spending between Israel and its potential adversaries.

I believe the United States should remain committed to Israel’s goal to live side-by-side with neighboring states and peoples. Congress should recognize that Israel has proven to be willing to make bold, painful concessions in order to end the conflict with the Palestinians and has made peace with Egypt and Jordan.

The city of Jerusalem has played a central role in the lives of Jews throughout the world.  It should remain the undivided capital of the State of Israel.

Unfortunately the United Nations has persisted in antagonism toward Israel. The United States should do everything it can to do away with the hostility that exists.

Hamas has killed hundreds of Israelis and Americans in suicide bombings and other terrorist attacks.  Hamas has used Gaza as a launching pad for firing thousands of rockets at Israeli civilians.  The United States should do everything possible to support Israel in its effort to end this activity.

Syria has continued to support terrorism in its cooperation with Iran and its interference in Lebanon.  This is counter to American interests.  The United States should make every effort to see that Damascus takes concrete steps to demonstrate its seriousness toward ending the conflict with Israel.

Iran is an enormous current threat to the United States and the Middle East. Iran’s leaders have called for the destruction of Israel and threaten the U.S. Iran supplies missiles to terrorist groups, including Hezbollah and Hamas. As a member of Congress, I will oppose Iran’s efforts to develop its nuclear capacity. I will support sanctions on Iran, including on companies doing business in Iran’s oil and gas industry and those selling Iran refined petroleum products.

As a congressman I will make every effort to support these positions and protect Israel.

Unsustainable.

That is how leaders from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) recently described our nation’s future spending levels.

According to the CBO, the federal debt will represent 62% of the nation’s economy by the end of this year, the highest percentage since just after World War II.

Deficits averaging almost $1 trillion a year over the next decade, totaling $9.3 trillion worth of additional red ink.

Unsustainable – you bet.  But I’d also call it criminal.

I think you’d agree the arrogance of Congress and the Obama Administration has put our nation on a pathway toward bankruptcy and destruction.

And like you, I have had enough. I’m running for Congress to bring an end to the arrogance and insanity in Washington.

I have a proven record of consistent, conservative leadership and accomplishments:

• I’ve stood up to both Democrats and Republicans to cut wasteful spending, balance the budget and oppose all tax increases.
• I wrote the bill to prevent Obama’s takeover or our healthcare freedoms in Oklahoma.
• I led the fight in the state Legislature to oppose job-killing “cap and trade” energy taxes.

With Washington on a war path of unsustainable debt, uncontrolled spending and higher taxes, it’s up to us to stop them at every turn.

Nation’s Largest Pro-Business Group Latest Endorser of Thompson’s Surging Campaign

Oklahoma City, OK — In one of its first endorsements of the election cycle, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce announced its endorsement of businessman and proven fiscal conservative Representative Mike Thompson for Oklahoma’s open 5^th Congressional District.

“I am honored to have the endorsement of the Chamber of Commerce,” said Thompson.  “As both a small businessman and a state legislator, I have seen how government regulations can strangle small businesses. As Congressman, I will lead the fight to cut government waste, reduce regulation, and lower taxes to encourage economic growth and job creation.”
